Stuff and pictures

I got a new camera yesterday! I'm so excited by it also. It's not one of the fancy professional cameras but it's got more of the features that they do. It can zoom in to things tons more then my other camera did and that, people, is very exciting to me.

I had to order it online since the only place here that sells cameras is Walmart and really they have a little bit of a selection but did not have what I was looking for. I am a total instant gratification type of person so waiting for it to come this last week has been soooo hard!

So I got it yesterday afternoon and do you know what I've been doing since then? Playing with my camera of course. Taking pictures are one of my favorite hobbies and I do hope someday to get a professional style camera but really I need to learn to use some of those features that are on my new camera already. I think it's awesome though!

Here is a picture of Madison and her new haircut.

I love to turn pictures into the sipia coloring also and the new camera does that as well as letting you had frames to pictures so I did this with another picture of Madison.

Another thing I like is being able to catch action shots better. With 2 puppies and 4 kids some of the best pictures around here to catch are in motion. I tried that out on some pictures of the puppies playing since they move quite fast and here is the result in one picture of Kodiak running. This one is not only with her her moving but using the zoom on the camera as well so for me that was even better.

I've taken a lot more pictures so far but for now I'll leave you with these.

Things are going a lot better at the moment. I'm done feeling sorry for myself about Izzaks problems for now anyway. I mean things really could be so much worse and to be honest he is an awesome kid. Joshua, well we are working on things with him. I am pretty much fully convinced I am going to homeschool him as well next year. Really is some ways things will be easier that way since I won't be taking some kids to school and some staying home. We can all start our day together istead of any rushing around which sounds great to me. I am still saying we will see how it goes for a year and he knows that. If he doesn't cooperate and all I do is fight to get him working then it just won't work.

I do have a question for those of you with girls over 9 or 10.... Lets see how do I phrase it...
Kenzie has suddenly turned into my very emotional little girl. Not like something is bothering her or anything she has several friends and gets along very well, is enjoying school, doesn't have a ton of things going on herself. So the question is. Has anyone else had their girls turning into little balls of emotion when they were this age. I honestly think it is really her just starting to go into puberty stuff. She has some other signs showing this as well so that what I think anyway. I just don't remember being 9, maybe I just burried it somewhere. But seriously she has bouts where she is just acting like she is PMSing.... Has her brothers, dad, and uncle all confused and me a bit also I guess.

Madison, well as usual is doing great. She is a very smart little girl. She is really picking up her reading lately and getting words I didn't think she would figure out. In math she is getting concepts very quickly also. I have to say I love homeschooling with her. I like to be the one teaching her a lot of these things for the first time and getting to really see her "get" something. It makes the days I fight with her fade away.

I have a 12 year old daughter and it all started when she was about nine. She went through spells of being very moody and emotional. It has either gotten a bit better or I have grown used to it. :) Growing up is hell.

Love the pictures.

Did I miss it - What type of camera did you get?

Poor Kenzie. I totally remember starting puberty. I'd cry every day (by myself in my room). It was horrible. My parents didn't understand - only my girlfriends who were going through it too.

Of course - I was a bit older. I think girls start puberty much earlier now than they did 30 years ago.

Hang in there.

Congratulations on the new camera and great photos. For me home schooling, when people ask, it is one year at a time. We don't know what the future will be, or how our kids will be so we just go as we can. They are a joy to teach when they are willing and it is great Madison is having such a good time with it. As for Kenzie, I think you are right, and you would know. My older two developed later, in fact my 13 year old isn't there yet, perhaps when she gains 5 pounds and weighs in at 100 pounds. She is 5'5" and so scrawny but normal for her. They say girls can start pre-puberty things at 6 with their emotions and it doesn't go regularly so it is more difficult to tell. They start taking a different shape by then, having hips a little more and a waistline unlike the boys. I would give her B vitamins and Vitamin D to help her feel better if she is dragging about a bit during those moody times. Her body is probably developing and she might need a few extra pick me up vitamins to supplement what she is getting in her food. My 13 year old has been a little that way in her life, and the vitamins have helped balance her. I am no doctor, so look into it, it may help. And ultimately, it is more difficult for her at her age to temper her temper so it is also a matter of teaching her tools to cope with the feelings. Obviously you would see if it goes beyond those kind of emotions and get her checked for depression if it seems bad or very consistent. You know your kids well and will figure it out pretty quick and fight if there is a fight to be had.

Oy. Yep, 9 is often a Very Scary Age for the people living in the Danger Zone... but 8th grade is worse.

I think you have received some wonderful tips of McKenzie from all your friends here - and hope it will bring some guidance as well as comfort from reading.

As to you great photo's on your new digital camera - of course I am jealous, given my archive digital camera and still not sure how to do things with it - but hey when you are advanced in years - life become a migraine - when anything new comes along.

As You can see I staying with LJ, as I found having wordpress as well - was too much and I like LJ far more. Hope you can read the posts okay?

Regards to all.

GREAT photos!!!! I love the first one of Madison! She's so pretty!

Can I ask what kind of camera it is? The action shot of the dog is fantastic.

Funny, I distinctly recall going into a camera shop when I was in Alaska... but now I'm thinking it was when we took the drive into the Yukon Territories...

I LOVE the pictures- they are fabulous!

When my step-daughter was around that age she started getting all emotional too. She would just cry over nothing and said she didn't know why, she just felt like crying. Their hormones are starting to go crazy. She didn't get her period for a few more years- but the PMSy type behavior came well before that!
