3 week puppy pics and explaining Ketchikan

Look at my pupy now! Isn't she cute? They opened their eyes around the end of last week so they still have those little blue eyes like newborn pups.

This week she really started walking around but it's so cute because she falls over alot. The puppies are starting to play with each other but they fall over alot since they are still so unsteady.
I can't wait till I bring our puppy home though.

So I had a couple of comments from people surprised we don't have more snow since we live in Alaska so I thought I would explain a little.
First Ketchikan is the southern most part of Alaska and on the ocean so the weather is a little different. We will get more snow but the normal around here would be 3 feet for the season. Less then most of Alaska. The second part is since Ketchikan is a rain forest the temps are different and being in a forest not all of the snow makes it to the ground level. Our house is under the forest really we are covered in trees over the top of the house and the grounds. A rainforest is like a canopy with all the trees. Very dense so when you are in the forest the trees above are so dense with the evergreens that it doesn't make it all the way through. The pics I showed were around our house and early on though in the storm, we ended up with more. If you go out to the roads and the homes that aren't actually "in" the forest they have a ton of snow. Did any of that make sense? I don't always explain it very well.

That puppy is so cute.

I think you are lucky to not have that much snow. I like snow - but to have it all winter long and so deep would get terribly depressing after a while.

(oh, and btw - I screwed up your Sitemeter...I clicked on to comment last night and then got called away and when I got back on the computer this morning - your site was still up! Oops!)

Wow, the puppy is growing up!

Yes, I understood what you wrote. (I've been to Hawaii, and that helped.)

Huh.... I had no idea you lived in that kind of area. How gorgeous that must be. A rain forest by the ocean... but in Alaska. WOW!!! Last winter we had 103" of snow! Tell me I wasn't sick of winter.

Makes perfect sense to me Terri - but then I am on medication - so anything makes sense (joke - honest)...

Luv the wee Kodiak and will be a joy when you can finally bring her home.
