So again it has been a few days since I posted again because once again I am a bad mother. I can't post from home because I am doing really well with my bills lately and forgot the phone/internet bill as well and they can get the phone turned on right away but somehow it takes a week get the internet turned back on. Apparently I am a little absent minded lately!
We had a good weekend this week that was nice. On Saturday the boys went to a friends house for the day and we decided to go on a drive with just the girls. They seemed to enjoy that and it was very quiet compared to when we usually go with all 4 kids. The girls don't fight as much with the boys gone, they actually play pretty well. On Sunday we had a great visit with my friend Melanie . Melanie is Kennedy's mom (here link and pic are on my links list) who has been fighting leukemia for over a year and a half now. She has a son named Austin who is the same age as Joshua so the boys had a great time and are still working on convincing me we should go this weekend as well. I would love to but I have no idea what is going on this weekend other then a birthday party for little Emily who is turning 2! I have put her pictures on here a few times as well. Kennedy and the girls, especially Maddie, played great together and I have a really cute picture of Kennedy and Maddie pushing around little carts at the grocery store on Sunday when they helped us go shopping. As soon as I get my computer back up I will have to post that picture. Kelly even came and I can quite figure out how I managed to get the anti-social hubby of mine to go when he hadn't met any of them yet, but he actually enjoyed himself and was social after the first few moments. Austin has a go-cart and the boys can't stop talking about it.
On Monday we had Izzaks first choir concert. I enjoyed Izzaks group mostly because I love seeing my son so comfortable on stage but the teacher I don't think really picked out very good songs for then to sing. Since the boys are all sixth graders they still sound like girls when they sing and some of the parts really needed to have a different tone to it. Izzak was really funny though and we ended up calling him the yawning man. I don't know what they expect on a school night at 7 o'clock but he was already tired after that since he had a long day of school. I have some cute pictures from it though also and will post those later.
I am a little frustrated at work this week. I had been yelled at by 2 different pts using foul language by Tuesday and that really screws up my mood. I also have my annual review this friday and I am totally not looking forward to it so please be thinking of me. I am just having a really hard time at work right now. I just don't want to be there lately and being there only makes that thought stronger. Nothing against the people I am working with just the daily business of what I do gets to you after awhile. That and I just want to be my kids mother and and my husbands wife. I don't feel I can do that well enough and work at the same time, its like I look around the house and get reminded that I am failing something and if only I was there I might be able to catch up, right? I know I have never been the cleanest person around the house but I still think I could do a better job and be more available to doing things with my children. I am more cranky this week though because I have a cold or allergies I can't quite figure it out but I have a bad headache. Anyway I will write more later and hopefull get some pics up soon!

No Title
Okay so I am slacking on my posts here. I have been fighting with a headache or something for the last 4 days that just doesn't want to go away. I take my migrain medicine and get rid of it for a couple of hours but I can only take that 2 x a day and ibuprofen is not much help.
To make it worse I have had a terrible work week and am just fed up. I don't want to deal with it anymore. Yesterday I got a call from the school that Madison and Joshua were not at school but Kenzie was which obviously had me concerned because they leave for the bus when I go to work so I don't see them get on but there are several other kids at the stop. I called and asked my dad who I knew would be around if he could go by the house to see if they were there. Fortunatly they were otherwise I would really be in a panic. Maddie was sitting on the porch by then eating her sandwich and Joshua was playing. They had gone back to get something but the house was locked and even though the bus driver saw them and Kenzie told her they were comming she said they were late and she wasn't going to wait. That really irritates me.
Today I got a call from the school that Madison had an accident and didn't have any clothes to change into so they wanted me to come pick her up right now. The problem is I am working about an hour away from home and when they called it was already almost 2:30 by the time I would get there school would be out anyway. I called everyone I know on that side of town and couldn't get anyone. If they would follow what I suggest by having her use the bathroom every hour since she has bladder problems and takes meds to help to begin with maybe they wouldn't have had her having 3 accidents in a week.
Kelly ended up having to leave work early. When he got home we found out the hard way that we missed paying our natural gas bill and the heat is off until tomorrow when they will send someone out to turn it back on. Fortunatly its not last week when we had snow and freezing temperatures. Its not supposed to get quite as cold as it has been. Generally we turn it way down at night anyway since everyone sleeps so hot we don't need it on very high, but I am still sure it will get a little chilly by tomorrow morning. I feel like such a bad mother!
Also it is time for Izzaks IEP re-evaluation and the school waits until the week before it is due to call and schedule once again the fact that I work makes it hard to schedule things with only a weeks notice, since they wanted me to schedule out of the blue for next week. They could have called me farther in advance to schedule and it would have been a lot easier to get the time off. So now they are paniking to get it done because it has to be done by a certain date or they get in trouble with some government group for not following the rules. I wish they had to follow my deadlines that I wanted when this whole thing got started with his testing.
Anyway I am really glad they don't have school tomorrow that means no calls from the school to stress about. Ok so I am done ranting. I do have to say one good thing. I started Joshua on Melatonin to help him sleep last week and it is working wonders he actual goes to sleep at a decent time without to much fight.

Snow Day!
I got the day off of work since I am not into driving in the snow and people in Oregon do not know how to do it even though we get snow usually every year (even if it only lasts a day or two). I just prefer to be off the roads. I had two good excuses this time though. First the kids schools were cancelled for the day so I needed to stay home but even better my mother works for the same company as me and when I called her this morning after she got to work since she leaves before me to see how the drive was her boss who happens to be the company CFO was standing by her and told her to tell I should stay home. I figured one or the other was a good enough excuse to get the day off.
Kenzie did better and seemed to enjoy it more but I couldn't seem to convince her to dress right for the weather so she came in and out a lot because she got cold so quickly. I don't know about you but looking at her made me cold!

What are they teaching my 6th grader?
***I had to edit the title as I notice the original title was getting a few strange hits to it having to do with sex education, that is really sad*****
I know strange topic but this is what Izzak had this week. I am not sure why they feel that 11 yr olds need to learn the terms and anatomy of both the male and female reproductive system yet but wouldn't it make sense to use a male teacher?
Whats the story? Well lets see. This Monday they had the school nurse (health teacher?) I am not sure which as she is the school nurse and the person to teach the individual classes. They were smart enough to split boys and girls up. I mean that is a no brainer but honestly did they think it would go smoothly taking 80+ 11 yr old boys in one classroom with a female teacher explaining the female and male reproductive systems and some other things I am a little confused about since my 11 yr old boy was not listening well enough to really get it. A friend of mine has a daughter at the same school who came home saying some weird things also that kind of have us worried so she is requesting the materials and such to be sent to her so we can go over what was taught.
I understand maybe teaching puberty ed in the 6th grade since some of them are starting that (apparently they do that in the 4th grade with 9 and 10 yr olds!) but from what we have heard it was a lot more then that. I also understand that some parents aren't comfortable talking about those issues with their kids but I think we should first be informed when it is happening, which didn't happen, and be offered the information they are giving before it is given, which they didn't do, at least so that I know what they said when my confused son comes home with more questions. Also the point is I am pretty open with my kids to discuss those topics when they come up and when I feel it is appropriate (my parents weren't at all, but I feel it is important. I just want to know what my 11 yr old is being taught.
Okay so the problem I kind of hinted at earlier in this post was the issue of a female teacher with 80+ boys. Does any one else see a possible problem with that? I would even before if I knew anything about it. Apparently these boys behaved the way most 11-12 yr old boys behave when puberty or male and female body parts are brought up! They were bad! I don't know if I would call it unusual basically they were talking out loud and giggling and making other comments and the teacher couldn't handle them. She walked out of the classroom in the middle of class and told the principal she refused to teach any of them anymore. After this they had a male teacher come in and basically (well as Izzak and another boy put it) yelled at them all for being so bad, then the vice principal then the Principal. OK seems a bit of overkill on the yelling to me. Honestly did they expect them to act the same as the girls? They also had to all write appology letters to the teacher (I am ok with this) they had a lunch detention and several other punishments. I just think there was a little overkill on this especially since it probably could have been handled better to begin with. Also as Izzak puts it not all of the boys were in on it mostly a seperate group of boys that he could name specifically who are also boys who tend to be difficult anyway. But since these boys caused enough roucus all boys were equally disciplined.
So my next issue goes to the fact this is the school nurse who when Izzak went to the office on Thursday complaining that his stomach hurt (which the school is under instructions to call me because he actually has a physical problem there that I need to know whenever he complains) she told him his temp was normal and he was fine and to go back to class. One problem is that no one called me and that is important for them to do, but since no one called me what is there definition of normal because if he had a 98.6 temp then it was not normal for him, his average temp has always run around 96.7 averaged so that would mean he may not have had a normal temp right? Anyway it makes me feel that one she was not being appropriate since she knew he was in the class but also she did not call me as instructed to do everytime. I don't think it is to much to ask that they call me, really the old school had him call me so I could ask the questions I need to know what it might be and if I needed to do something about it.
Anyway so there is another rant I hate doing that but I am just irritated by it. I am just tired of the schools thinking it is their responsiblity to decide what needs to be taught to my children when they know some parents may not feel it is appropriate. When I get the information from the school I may write another post on it depending on what it was.

Happy Birthday to Me!
I guess this is a funny post to wish myself a Happy Birthday. Oh well I get to do that. I am 31 today. Last year when I turned 30 it was a lot harder, not that I think now that 30 is old but when I was a kid I did and in the back of my mind it was still so. My dads birthday was yesterday and instead of saying he was turning 59 he was celebrating his 30th 29th birthday! He is really a funny guy. He agreed with me about turning 30 and how he thought that was officially old when he was a kid to so that is why he will be 29 forever....So I guess instead of saying I am celebrating my 31st birthday I can say it is my 3rd 29th birthday instead.

Back to School and Joshua's driving me nuts
So the kids went back to school this week on Tuesday after there Christmas break, I only had to work two days this week so I was kind of glad about that. The only problem is it meant getting back to the regular phone calls from Joshua at school telling me he had forgotten his lunch at home and now the school says I need to put money in his account so he can get a regular lunch.
Ok, the problem is he isn't supposed to get lunches at school he has a lunch box and I spend a good deal of money every week to find interesting things to put in their lunches because it actually ends up cheaper then paying for school lunches that they stand in line for 15 minutes to eat but only have a 25 minute lunch so the girls, especially Maddie end up not having enough time to eat.
The fun part of this week is when he called he got my voicemail and didn't leave a message so I called the school and asked to speak to his teacher about it this time once I found out for sure that it was his lunch again. This is the embarrasing part apparently when he forgets to bring his lunch he tells the school as in the teacher and the lunch people that we have no food in the house for him to make a lunch. So they feel bad for him and give him a free lunch. I am now figuring out why they keep sending home the free lunch forms that we make to much money to get. Also I kept trying to figure out why every time he called home sick and wanting to come home the school nursing was telling me about the free medical program at another school that I could take him to to get checked out. God I feel embarrased now. I am trying to figure out exactly what he has been telling the school and why they haven't noticed that his sisters (who are in the same school) always come in with their lunch boxes full of interesting food items.
Anyway I talked to his teacher about it and assured her that yes we have plenty of food in the house for all of the kids and I watch him make his lunch every morning so I know he is getting one. I told the teacher that obviously he is trying to take advantage and get a lunch at the cafeteria and that this is not okay (especially if he is lying about no food in the house) so from now on if he "forgets" his lunch he is not to be given a school lunch. Hopefully he will figure it out this way because apparently he has racked up a nice large bill for me to pay by the end of the year for hot lunches that I never agreeed to. It really ticks me off. I mean it is one thing if a kid does it once in awhile and actually forgets his lunch somewhere but shouldn't they find out more information before feeding him lunches like that at least 2-3 times a week? Like I said his sisters go to the same school and always have their lunches....
The other thing is Joshua already has a reputation to begin with at the school for telling these kinds of stories and manipulating things so people think he is not as smart as he is. I mean he comvinced his teacher this year that he couldn't read past a 1st grade level (he is in the 4th) when he finished the year last year testing very advanced at a 6th grade level and very proficient. I swear this kid drives me crazy sometimes and I haven't even gotten into the half of it. :( ughhhhhh. By the way the shirt he is holding up was part of his Christmas pajamas and it says "The boogie man is afraid of me", yeah I would be to.

Quizes and Drs appt
Don't know why I have done those but I saw them and thought it was funny. Usually they are so off, but sometimes they hit the mark.
I have a drs appt today for a blood disorder I have...They have to check my counts and see if I am keeping my iron counts up with the infusions I get every month... Wish me luck....I really hate needles especially since I have a port in my chest which means a big needle in the chest, trust me not comfortable but at least it means one poke instead of 6 in the hands.
Also I am not working at all today because I work in the staffing department and somehow even though I have been there longer then anyone else I didn't get scheduled, I guess thats what you get after 4 years. They tried to tell people this summer that slumps in jobs never happens with so many clinics, I disagreed and see I was right. Anyway I guess I will try to get the house cleaned up while the kids are in school before I go to the drs. Also we are completly out of TP.. How does that happen and no one tells me? huh really how does it happen? We also need garbage bags if I am going to clean this house just to much stuff piling up.
