I posted a couple of days ago about the various places I find my kids when they sleep. One thing I don't think I commented on was the fact the everyone but Joshua are sleepwalkers. Izzak is the worst. I can't tell you how many times we have cought him going to the bathroom in completely the wrong place like closets, he truely is asleep doing this so he has no clue. Those are just the times we have caught him, it doesn't include when we have found it the next morning. Sleepwalkers are fun. The other problem is the kids frequently end up anywhere in the house. Like last night I got up in the middle of the night to find Izzak and Kenzie sleeping in the living room.
Kenzie was curled up on one of the living room chairs. She is wearing Izzaks sweatshirt which is something she always wears when she can convince him to let her. I think it is really sweet she always wants to wear it since it is his favorite and he wears it all the time. So it smells like her big brother.
Izzak had also managed to sleepwalk out into the living room and was sleeping on the couch. One of the main reasons I know they were sleeping is because the T.V wasn't turned on and I find them out there a lot. Also what is funny is sleep walkers also can be talkers and Joshua and Izzak frequently have arguments in their sleep, it is actually pretty funny!
Madison had actualy started the night in her bed sleeping with Kenzie but when I woke up I found her sleeping in Izzaks bed. I am thinking when Kenzie moved so did she but she probably crawled in with Izzak and he ended up getting up in his sleep and going to the couch. I have seen this play out before. When they do it is kind of weird because they are sleep walking they are really not very responsive or coherent. Unfortunatly they inherited this from me and I got it from my mom. When I was little the first thing the rest of the family did was to search for me to find out where I ended up in the middle of the night. Sometimes in closets under things, under beds, they even once found me sleeping inside the doorway with the doors wide open. We lived on a small island at the time (due to my dad being in the Navy) so they didn't really have to worry about someone taking me but there was the Pacific Ocean. After that they started locking the doors at night with a chain, way beyond my reach! We have to keep locks on our doors for the same reason. Not that they have done it yet but I have found Izzak completely dressed for school and sleeping in front of the door so I know it needs to be that way.
Last night though Joshua was asleep actually when I got up to check everyone the only one still up was
Harry Potter our hamster. Doesn't he look like he is asking ot have his picture taken?
Okay, so thats for the kids and sleeping, exciting huh?
Anyway so also yesterday Kelly was invited to VIP after concert party by a friend of his for one of my favorite bands Rascal Flats and Jason Aldean. What did he do? He turned his friend down because he didn't want to stay up to late.... On a Friday night! What is wrong with my husband?? Hmm? I don't get it.... Rascal Flats sings two of my favorite songs right now

My Wish by Rascal Flatts
I love when my husband completely forgets that I might like to go to something. Besides since he is leaving for several months soon it would have been nice to do something with him that we know we can't bring the kids to. Don't you think? I just don't think he thinks and it is irritating. I would have totally taken it if it was one of his favorite bands even if it was one I didn't like, just cause I know he would like it. Also he does actually like these groups so I don't know what it up with him.....
Also I have a couple of kid qoutes from the boys today that I just had to share.
Izzak being a nearly 12 year old boy has lately been picking up more and more things but doesn't always get them just right. He saw a junky truck and his comment "That's a hole of crap!" of course that would be a pile of crap but I thought it was worth a chuckle.
When we were out to dinner tonight Kelly kept trying to get me to look at this person he thought looked like my mom. Joshua thought we were being rude and his comment? "Mom your invating there personalities!" Uhm I assume that was supposed to be privacy.

Isn't it hilarious how they can just fall asleep anywhere? I love that about kids.
Wow, night-times sound very active in your house!
Yes,I agree with Beccy!Very active kids at nights!
Greetings ;O)
Steffi
Love "that's a hole of crap"!
Dude, I am a HUGE Rascal Flatts fan. I saw them a little over a year ago and paid way too much to see them 8th row. LOVED IT!
Yes my kids are very active at night. You would be amazed what nights are like with 3 active sleepwalkers. That is one reason I don't always get a lot of sleep. I am up when I hear them to make sure they are okay. Plus I get up in the middle of the night wether I hear them or not to see if they are still in their beds or where they are at.
Amy, I guess you understand then my frustration with the hubby turning down the VIP party invitation! I am jealous you go to go to a concert. I would love to have been able to go. Like you said though their tickets are really expensive and we didn't have the money.
That' amazing how the kids keep getting up through the night! Do YOU get any sleep? I'd always be wondering where they are now. Do you have extra locks on the outside doors to your house?
It's too bad you didn't get to go the concert. Men just don't think sometimes. :)
It's hilarous when children get something half right. My daughter does that all of the time, too. I don't laugh at her of course, but it's darn cute.

Debbie, we do have different locks on the doors. The front door has a key lock deadbolt instead of a twist type lock and the sliding door in back has a lock up top that they can't reach right now. The only scary thing is if we had a house fire or something it might make it harder to get out at least the front door although the sliding wouldn't be to bad. I do get some sleep but I am a pretty light sleeper since having kids so I usually wake up when I hear them moving about but not always. I take the sleep walking and talking though over the night terrors Izzak used to have as a toddler though.
Also I don't think men think sometimes, although we usually do don't we?
I try not to laugh at their comments when they don't get things quite right but sometimes its hard not to.
I'm a talker, but definitely not a walker!
My friend went to Rascal Flatts a few weeks back, she said it was one of the best concerts she had ever been to and she's not a particularly big fan. I much prefer Doc Walker myself.
Okay, so men don't always "think" of the things women would like us to. Would it hurt to help us out a little with a hint or two?
I'm just sayin'.
Rascal Flatts is great.
Emma, I have heard from a lot of people that their concerts are great. And the 3 kids and I are all both walkers and talkers. As you can imagine my husband has to be a heavy sleeper or he would never sleep with me next to him.
Hey Alpha Dude, I give the hubby lots of hints I am an open book. Normally he is really good about those things but I understand what you mean. Also Rascal Flats is great!
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful 'journal'.
The mind can be somewhat complex in a sleep state - it must be a startling morning for you - as to where your delightful children can be found - sleeping!!
Blessings to you all from Scotland.
