September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

I am going to take a break today from my posting about our new home. It was brought to my attention today by a good friend of mine that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

This is from the email she sent to let me know....She expressed it the best to me

"Tears absolutely poured from my eyes as I previewed this video made by several moms I know from my ALL-Kids e-mail list. It is now available for the public at the link below. I urge you to check it out...I promise, you will not be disappointed. Do it in honor of Kennedy (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and her cousin Devon (Hodgkins Lymphoma) and all of those children who continue to fight, who will fight cancer in the future and who have lost their battle...

Please pass this on...let's get the word out about the #1 killer disease of children...

Melenie"

Also please those Americans who read this please go to this website calle curesearch it is mentioned in the video. Be sure to go to this link and it takes you through writing a letter to your Senators and Representatives of your state to send as well. I did it tonight.

Melanie is a friend of mine that I met when I lived in Oregon who has a website for her daughter Kennedy who just finished 2 1/2 years of treatments for All (acute lymphoblastic leukemia)and just this summer Kennedy's 11 year old cousin Devon was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma.

11 people had something to say:

A very sobering video..I feel so badly for each one of those kids and their families. I can't imagine what it would take to be a parent and to learn that your child has this dreaded disease.

I am in tears here for those children and their families and the suffering they endure. May God give them the strength to fight this terrible disease.

Thank you so much Terri for posting this! While it is a horrific journey to walk, it has been equally full of blessing. Kennedy, and so many kids like her, are just amazing. We miss you and wish that we had been able to see you before you left. Alaska looks BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thinking of you,
Melenie

A friend of ours just found out this summer that their 16 month old son has a cancerous brain tumor. It's been just tragic to watch what this poor family has had to go through, all with very little hope of success or recovery. I just ache for them.

Tears flowed as I watched the video - I have a cousin whose granddaughter has been diagnosed with ALL. Read about Reagan Allison at http://beadinggranny.com/reagan.htm
So much love is poured onto your pages - loved your site and will return. I do plan to add the video to Reagans' fundraiser page with permisson from you and her family.
Have a beautiful day and keep writing! Awesome job.
