Whale watching, etc.

So blogger is still giving me fits so I can't upload pictures directly. I am finding other ways of getting pics on though. Look at this picture I took on Tuesday. I thought it looked cool looking from our deck. You can see the mountain from Galina Island poking out from above the clouds. I really like living at the top of a mountain. The views are amazing. Judging by the comments I got on my Fun Monday post I assume others agree with me.

Also Tuesday we were at a restaurant having appetizers and coffeee with a friend while the kids were in gymnastics. The restaurant is right off the water, like most around here actually. Anyway we were just talking when I noticed several killer whales surfacing just outside! It was awesome! I can't see myself ever getting tired of seeing the whales coming through around here! It was a whole pod and we counted at least 20 of them surfacing on their way up farther north. I tried to get a picture but my zoom lense is acting weird so I couldn't really get up to close but the pictures I have to show a little of them above the water.

I wish I could have gotten some more of them breaking the water because it was awesome but I didn't have my camera with me when I was at the restaurant. They were coming up in large groups at a time. This picture was when we decided after the restaurant to follow them on their way with our cars and stopped when we had a good view to see them.

Silly picture of my puppy Kodiak. No she doesn't really use a pacifier the girls have a few of these for their dolls and thought it would be funny to give it to her one day when she was sleeping. Funny thing is she left it there for awhile.

Shoot!!! I sooo knew when I wrote that meme I was going to leave some people out! And yes - of course I would love to meet you!!!! (And while I've been to Ketchikan, it was just once, and not nearly long enough! Just a cruise pit-stop.)

I can't imagine being able to see whales like that on a regular basis!!! Your kids are so fortunate to have parents to up & move them to Alaska like you did! What an awesome experience!!

Great photos and such amazing views of nature. Love the photo of Kodiak with the pacifier, something my girls would be so inclined to do as well (as you may have noticed from cat photos with hats and scarves).
