February is over at last!

Of course it didn't end without a bang, cause you know this month has sucked. So how did we end it? Kelly got hit in the head with a beam at work and needed 10 stitches in his head. He said that he was told it went all the way to the bone. Ouch! Anyway. Like I said the month is over lets all hope for a better one okay! Please!

I have a question though. Does anyone else have problems with getting kids to sleep at night? I know I do first of all the girls don't believe in sleeping alone. They have to be in someone else's bed. Sometimes it is there own together but not always. Like last night this is how I found Kenzie

She crawled in bed with Izzak last night. Please pay no attention to the pillow with no case. That is another thing I can't figure out. Anyway this is one of the places I find her. Of course if she is in with one of the boys that leaves Maddie who won't sleep alone either. So where is she?

Why she is in my bed of course and this is after I moved her because she thinks she needs to sleep the full length of my bed when she gets in before me. Also once I come to bed she feels the need to sleep across me. And people always wonder why I am so tired all the time? When she is in with us I end up in the middle between her and Kelly which doesn't give me a great night sleep.

And of course the worst one off all?

Why Joshua of course who looked like this at 12 am when I took these pictures. Does he look like he is going to sleep anytime soon? Ughh........

What is a mother to do to get some sleep around here? Kelly is leaving soon for Alaska and one of the main things I am not looking forward to is the fact that I know my kids will think I am lonely in bed and they will all think they should crawl in bed with me. The thing is if I didn't think they were going to do that I would be looking forward to a few months of sleeping in a king size pillowtop bed all to myself!

Here is the other picture I got of Joshua last night, just in case you weren't convinced of how awake he was

Now is this really what you want to see when trying to get to bed on a worknight when we are supposed to get up for work the next morning at 5 am.

More Pictures of the soon to be 12 year old

I really am enjoying this new scanner of mine it is a big project and I am trying to get all of the kids regular pictures scanned so that I can put them on discs at "back up"

I love his little hat in this picture, it was exactly like his dads.

Here is daddy trying trying to feed Izzak his baby food, Izzak wasn't done but really thought it was funny to hold on to his spoons like this. He had so many teeth already at 8 months he got a really good grip on it and was hard to pull out!

This one is part of the one in the other post where Izzak was sitting in the dirt. He also liked to get rides in Papa's wheelbarrow. It's funny to look at this picture though. My dad is so much grayer now! And the glasses just look huge.

We are doing good this week. So far no illnesses, yipee. I am going to hold my breath though, we still have two more days left of February to get through without any major incident. So far everyone is healthy, enough. I do have my infusion this week but that is the only appt comming up. For anyone not sure about the infusion. I don't metabolize Iron from eating or taking iron suplements so I have a port in my chest and get iron infusions every 4 weeks. Really its great fun. Not!

I will soon be done with Izzaks pictures and start Joshua, so I will share those also, he was a really cute baby as well.

3 posts in a day!

3 posts in a day I think that is a big one for me.

So the kids are doing better. I am not sure if Kenzie has gained any of the weight back yet but she is definetly feeling so much better this week. I swear taking the kids to the dr is a sure fire way to get them better!

This week was going pretty well except I tried to kill myself and Izzak yesterday. I was driving him to his burn clinic appt and it had been raining when traffic decided to just stop in front of me. When I tried to brake my brakes locked up on me and put us into a spin. My rear tires decided to fishtail and I did a full 180 degree turn ending up facing oncoming traffic in the wrong direction. I have to say it was one of the scariest moments of my life. Fortunatly we are both okay the front of my Durango did hit another car on the side during the spin but everyone was okay and only a little bit of damage. Honestly though I have to say someone had to be watching over us at the time because it was during a busy time for traffic and there was a lot of traffic on the road at the time we are really lucky to be alive!

The good thing is though that Izzak got to his burn clinic appt and they said he is doing wonderful and the burn is almost healed. He still has the large area that now has fresh pink skin on it but he still has to be really careful as it could tear if he were to get hit by something in the wrong way. He is happy because he is out of PE until April. Also he has to make sure to put a lot of sunscreen on it when the sun is out or he could really damage it.

We are doing good though I am not really worried about stuff I figure with everything that has happend this month we have to be done for the rest of the year right? Well I sincerly hope so! Geez.....

I have just decided since last year in February was a bad month also (although not like this one) that next year I am not going to get out of bed or leave the house in February. What do you think? I can handle that...

I feel like leaving this post with another scanned baby pic of Izzak who as you know will be turning 12 in a few weeks! That boy loved the dirt and Papa made a spot in his garden just for him to play in. Doesn't he look happy!

I stole this one from my friend Melanie and thought it was a good one to do.

I know this is not January anymore but this is a great way to reflect on 2006 anyway and helps me to look forward to 2007…so…here goes!

1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?

Hmm... I don't know I didn't really do anything different other then I started reading these blogs and now I am totally obsessed.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't really make new years resolutions I know that I will break them, I am just like that I can't commit to those things, just people.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Well Hannah had Simon and of course Becci had Dorothy ! They are sister in laws and I have known Hannah and David for years so that was really exciting. I can't think of anyone else really though.
4. Did anyone close to you die?

My Uncle Monty died from liver cancer which was really a blow to alot of the family it was really sad.

5. What countries did you visit?

No Countries here just a couple states in the US

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

I would like to get to Alaska which we had hoped to do last year but just did not happen we are pretty much set for it to happen now though

7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I don't really have any dates that were etched in my memory from 2006.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

The biggest acheivment? Hmm I don't know I didn't kill anyone and I kept my job without telling my boss where to shove it.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I don't think I had any big failures only that we didn't manage to get to Alaska like we had planned this is a big thing because then I can quit my job :) !

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No new illnesses I did have the problem with my elbow but I didn't do anything specific to injure it but I had to have surgery to try to fix it, although I am finding now that it didn't really work so I am pretty disapointed in that.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought my Durango! I was excited about that and it was good timing because we bought it 3 days before we had to make our rush trip to Nevada when my uncle was dying and it was great timing since none of the cars we had before would have gotten us there.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Thats another hard one. Izzak did turn around his behavior at school toward the end of the year which was great since even though he still struggles he has a much better attitude about it.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Usually mine…

14. Where did most of your money go?

Kids of course and bills, bills and more bills

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

The fact that we knew by December we would be able to move this year.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?

Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood. It is so true for us and I really have to remind myself that I can't always be in control, I need to give it up to someone else

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?

a) Happier we turned things around last year and moved started being able to keep up a little bit better with our finances, finances stress me out so making more and not having to worry quite as much was nice
b) fatter I guess I wanted to lose weight last year but I seemed to actually put more on
c) I would have to say richer, not because of money though

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Time for myself, I don't do that much and I don't consider going to work having time to myself.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

20. How did you spend Christmas?

We spent most of Christmas at home with the kids also we went to my inlaws house but really I don't like to think about that part

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?

Only with my hubby Kelly, he really is a good guy

22. What was your favorite TV program?

ER as usually that and CSI

I don't really hate anyone, some people I really don't like but I just don't hate people

24. What was the best book you read?

Books? hmmm I don't think I have actually read a book since Izzak was born, seems to be no time, maybe if I got off the computer but I like my blogs

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Again moving to Alaska and buying our own home

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?

T-shirts and jeans

32. What kept you sane?

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

I don't think anyone really I don't really pay that much attention

34. What political issue stirred you the most?

I don't really like to discuss politics to depressing

35. Who did you miss?

Some friends that I don't see so much anymore my kids when they were littler

36. Who was the best new person you met?

I would have to say Melanie she is a lot of fun to talk to.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.

I need to let go of things more and not feel like I need to be in so much control.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

No, life ain’t always beautiful.
Tears will fall sometimes.
Life aint always beautiful,
But it’s a beautiful ride.

I stole the last answer from Melanie but it really is true. I love that song.

6 things about MEME

So Becci tagged me and I have to tell you 6 weird things about myself. Honestly I don't think I am weird though, really its the rest of the world that is strange, I'm normal, lol.

1. Like Becci I am a seperate eater. I can't have other people get my food either because they may not get it quite right. I eat my food in certain orders usually the fruit or vegetable, then the rice or potatoe and meat last. They don't touch because I don't like to mix flavors I want to enjoy each food by itself. I don't really like cassarole type foods much either. To many different types of food touching I actually will pick different things out of it to eat in order. I am like this with pies also. I will eat the topping, then the filling and crust last. I have always done that and Kelly thinks I am really weird because he likes to throw all his food into one pile and eat it that way. My food no touchy! That is bad!

2. When I go to a Restaurant I always order the same thing. I can't try anything new. When I go to a new retaurant I will usually stick with something that is a favorite at another restaurant also. This makes for a very limited variety but what if I don't like it? Yeah Kelly thinks that is weird also he always likes to try something different but says at least it is easy for him to order for me.

3. One thing that people think is weird is that I have this issue with toilet lids being up. I am not at all the best housekeeper in the world but the toilet lid is always down. I close toilet lids at peoples houses when I am over (don't be offended it is just me). Since we are moving we have been looking online at houses for sale and I automatically notice in the pictures of bathrooms if the toilet lid is up and it really bothers me. The kids find this funny and will point it out immediatly if they see it, then laugh and pick on mommy. Kelly hates this because for some reason he thinks toilet lid should be up. Although since my occasions for falling in the toilet when hugely pregnant with Izzak he at least make sure the seat is down, but he loves to tell the story.

4. I get lost easily even going places that I have been to several times. It is really bad and one reason Kelly makes me carry a cell phone with me. I also can't give decent instructions on how to get anywhere. I follow the same path when I go places just in case because I know if I go a different way I will surely get lost.

5. I am scared to death of bridges! I live in Portland which has a river that runs through it and to get to the other side of town or into downtown you have to cross a bridge. Partly I think it has to do with the fact I grew up in California and we always talked about and had at least little earthquakes. I am totally convinced that I will be on a bridge one day when we have the big one they keep talking about here in Oregon. I will go out of my way to stay away from bridges though. The worst was when my car died on one of the biggest bridges here during rush hour. I was convinced every time a semi drove by that it was the big one and had a total panic attack!

6. Okay and the one that most people think is crazy is that I would love to have been able to have more kids. I know 4 is considered a lot these days but even with my difficult pregnancies I loved being pregnant and I really love my kids even when they are driving me nuts.

Okay I don't know who to tag with this one either I think everyone else already did.

Because I can't stop telling you about myself

and it is much more interesting then me telling you how sick my kids have been.
Becci I am working on the Meme one that you sent me. It may take a couple of days cause really I'm not weird (eyes rolling, husband laughing hystericaly).

I "borrowed" this one from Emma who "borrowed" it from a few other people herself.

1. Are your parents married or divorced? Married for 34 years now

24. Hamburger or hotdog? Hamburger, sometimes

25. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? I don't know. That would be hard!

30. Do you read blogs? Yes constantly, I think I am obsessed

31. Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex? That is pretty easy as a girl just jeans a T shirt and a pair of boys shoes, so ya I have done it actually but the hair gives it away and it is to long and think to hide in a hat

32. Have you ever been involved with the police? No

33. What's your favourite shampoo, conditioner and soap? Hmm I don't really have a favorite. I love the baby shampoo for the kids though if they could make it smell that way for adults but still as conditioning I would use it.

34. Do you talk in your sleep? Unfortunatly yes and Kelly finds it hysterical and like to get me to say weird things. Izzak is bad at this to and we both walk in our sleep and get in all kinds of trouble.

35. Ocean or pool? Ocean for sure

42. Ricki Lake or Oprah Winfrey? Oprah I guess but I don't really like either to be honest, Ohrah used to be good but not so much anymore

43. Basketball or football? Football

44. How long do your showers last? 5-10 minutes I have to hurry since I get out of bed so late and need to get to work, get the kids ready, etc. Also I think the years with 4 small kids at home when I was a SAHM and not being able to be gone long stuck.

45. Automatic or stick? Automatic I can' be bothered by paying attention to anything else in the car

46. Cake or ice cream? Ice cream!!

47. Are you self conscious? Very! It is bad. I have been diagnosed as a kid with social anxiety disorder and giving reports in high school were nightmares that ended in tears.......

I can't believe he is going to be 12!

In just about 6 weeks from now Izzak is going to turn 12. It really makes me sad to think he is getting so grown up when I look at him now I still see this little guy....

The basket was my mothers great idea for storing his toys at her house. Aparently he had other ideas for it and this is what he usually did with it. He would throw out all the toys and sit inside. Isn't that cute!
Of course when he sits next to me in one of his rare cuddly moods I can't help but remember this....... when he was only 12 hours old. Even though he was all red he was also the biggest baby in the nursery that day at 8 lbs 11 ozs, which I know they come bigger but that is a full pound larger then any of my other babies were and the only one I didn't have to have c-section

I recently got a new scanner and am having a lot of fun going through pictures and scanning them to put on discs so I am sure this won't be the last "blast from the past" of my kids and their baby pictures. Alot of other bloggers have babies now that they get to post pictures of and I want to do it to..... And I have tons of baby and toddler pictures of my kids because as you can ask my kids mom doesn't leave the house without a camera!

The cutest little Cupid

I know I am a little late for a Valentines day post but we were all sick and such last week. I wanted to post this picture of Kenzie when she was 15 months old Valetines 2000. Isn't she the cutest little cupid you have seen? I know I am biased but I sure do.

That and after the picture of her looking so sick I wanted to follow up with something cute!

She seems to be feeling a bit better today is eating and actually insisted on going outside for awhile since it is a really nice day outside.

Kenzies appt

So I took Kenzie in today to see her dr since she has been sick for a full week now. He said he has been seeing a lot of people with the flu most are 24 hour stomach bugs but some are lasting longer then that and she tends to stay sick longer when she gets sick. She is a little dehydrated but not bad enough to do anything other then try to push more fluids. Also I was right when I said in the last post that she looked to me like she had lost some weight. She lost about 3.5 pounds which when you only weighed 54 to begin with is a lot. He feels she will gain it back fine once she gets over this. If she gets worse over the weekend or is still sick I am to give him a call. So nothing to big from that appt which is good I just needed someone to tell me she was okay. All her vitals are basically normal she has a elevated temp but nothing to be to worried about. Especially when you consider she is the child who will pop up with a 104 temp randomly with no other symptoms and no one can ever find a reason for it.

So Kenzie has an apointment today

She is still not feeling well today.

No vomiting this morning but as you can see she just doesn't look like she feels well and isn't getting off the couch much. Also she hasn't been eating much but it drinking a little today. She also looks as though she has lost some weight so I think part of my wanting to take her in is to find out if she has. She just looks sick to me and I don't like it. I will update later after her appt, hopefully she just has a bug and my paranoia about her weight is unfounded and she is fine. She just doesn't weigh alot to begin with so she doesn't have a lot of weight to lose being sick.

Some Good Some Bad

So the good news today is that Izzak had his appt with the burn dr today and he said his burn on his leg is healing great! Better then they were expecting it to and he definetly will not need to get skin grafts! What a relief, we really needed that news. He is doing a little better pain wise and is walking a little more without the crutches already but is on crutches all day at school.

Kelly had his arbitration meeting with the lawyers and the insurance company today also and everything is now settled granted we are getting less then we had originally anticipated but the judge said that we got more then she has been seeing some people get as the insurance companies are more and more trying to dwindle down to next to nothing for car accidents. I understand in some cases as I know there are a lot of frivilous cases but Kelly did really injure his back and it does restrict some of his ability to do his job and leaves him with alot of pain. We are able to get the money though in the next 2-3 weeks and then we will get things ready for him to leave for Alaska where he will get a job up there (we know for a fact he will not have a problem getting one).

The kids and I will stay here for about 6-8 months before we go up. We decided this because of several reasons.

One I don't want to pull them out of school in the middle of the year. Since I grew up with my dad in the Navy I frequently left schools to start a new one in the middle of the year and it was really hard. I told myself and Kelly I would never do this to the kids unless absolutly necessary and we already had to do it last year so I don't want to do it again.

Second I want him to be established with his job long enough to feel comfortable with it.

Third we absolutly can't go any length of time without insurance and since many jobs have waiting periods before insurance starts and of course most insurance plans have additional waiting periods for pre-existing conditions which both Kenzie and I have that are conditions we cannot go without medication or treatment for. Since my job now has good insurance I will stay here with my job and insurance until his becomes active.

Fourth reason this gives me a lot of time to adjust to the idea of moving away and getting many necessary things taken care of before we leave. Packing is one obviously. I also need to get copies of all the kids birth certificates, I can't find all of their social security cards which we will need to have also and I want to get copies of all of our medical records from each of our drs and Izzaks records for his learning disabilities to hand carry with me so that I don't have to wait once we are up there for them to arrive from various drs here. That way we will be less likely have lapses in any care or medications we need to get taken care of by any new drs we get when we get there.

Okay so for the bad stuff. In my last post I said that the girls seemed to be feeling better. Apparently for Kenzie I was speaking to soon. She is worse now and has the vomiting and diahrea back with a vengence. It never really seemed to go away completely but she was acting better so I thought we were over it. Today she is pretty uncomfortable and her tummy is hurting her a lot more she was crying earlier. I spoke to the on call dr and he said to try to keep her up on fluids and bring her in tomorrow to have her dr see her. She always seems to get the worse of things and I really hate it when she gets sick like this. She has a slight fever only about 99.5 but it is pretty constant. I will take her in tomorrow though and post if her dr has any other concerns.

A little better

So mommy is a little better today not quite like yesterday when I just wanted to roll over and die. I made it to work since I am not having any more throwing up or the other nasty stuff either. I felt okay most of the day but still have the body aches that went with it yesterday but those were okay with taking advil. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be over this part of it and feel a little closer to normal. I really hope so anyway.

The girls are fine today and both went to school as well they seem to be their normal happy selfs. I am very hapy about that. Sick kids are really not much fun.

Joshua had a bit of a tummy ache last night but seemed to be over it this morning so he was fine at school also.

Kelly thinks his is just nerves since he goes to court for his settlement from the car accident this week and it has him a little on edge.

Izzak seems to so far have gotten by without catching any of it as he has not had any stomach pain and is getting around a little better today even with the pain in his leg. He seems to be getting around school fine also which is really good since I was a bit worried about that.

So there we are hopefully all getting over whatever illness we had I guess I am just glad we all did it at once since the prolonged way of everyone getting after each other can get old with 6 people real quick. Fortunatly daddy did pretty well helping out yesterday since he was never feeling quite as bad as I was and normally he is the biggest baby when sick even more then the girls.

Mommy down

So this stomach thing that the girls had over the weekend hit me today. Oh joy! So yes I missed work but I would have anyway since Kenzie was up all night throwing up and Maddie said she was fine this morning but threw up at the bus stop so Joshua brought her back and went to school on his own. By this evening I am starting to feel a little more human again like I can hold my own head up anyway so hopefully it is just a one day thing and I can make it to work tomorrow. The girls seem better this evening also.

Although Joshua says his stomach is bothering him but he is still bouncing around the house and eating so I am hoping he is just fine and won't get hit himself.

Kelly seems to be fighting a more milder case of it though and was able to go to work today although he said he made it by eating tums like candy and drinking Coke which he says helps his stomach feel better, personally I go for a gatorade (it doesn't burn as much comming back up).

Izzak did make it to school today and did fine he says. I drove him since I was home for the day and picked him up. I had told him that if it was to much he could call home and I would pick him up but he did fine. He does have PE tomorrow so I need to make sure I get the letter for the class done so that he doesn't have to participate. He is feeling about the same pain wise right now and it is hard to explain to him that it takes time especially with as large of a burn he has.

The main thing he is really disappointed about though is that this weekend is there Winter Powwow at church which is a camp the boys would go to from Friday to Sunday. They really have fun at camp but obviously he is not going to be able to go and I am not going to have Joshua go either since I am much more comfortable sending Joshua to these things with his brother there to help keep an eye on him. Joshua can be a pretty sneaky little kid sometimes and seems to be able to pull things off on his teachers and such that his brother would catch since he knows him so well. They have the longer camp this summer and I am sure we will still be here by then and they will go at that time.

3 kids down

We are having an interesting week I guess.

Izzak obviously is still in a lot of pain. I managed to convince him he needed to take a shower today since the dr said it was okay which turned into a very traumatic event for him. It was pretty painful as you might imagine and he didn't get everything washed more of a rinsing was about what he could handle. He goes to school this Monday and will see how he handles it, I told him he could call me if it was to much and we would get him home. I won't be surprised if he is only about to make about half the day for a couple of days at least, now that he is in middle school there is a lot more walking around for him to do and with the pain he is having and trying to use crutches I am not sure exactly how much he will handle.

Madison woke us up this morning nice and early throwing up in our bed and now has a bit of a fever going around 100 degrees. So she is down right now as well hopefully she will be feeling better by Monday because I have missed so much work from this last week I am out of paid time off. Of course if she is not I will stay home though.

McKenzie has been on her lactose free diet all week and has done pretty well. She started back on dairy products today to see if she has a problem with it and by this afternoon she had her typical bad tummy ache and diahrea (I know to much info there). The only thing is I don't know for sure if maybe she is getting what Maddy has or reacting to the lactose, it has me frustrated. The only thing is she says she isn't nauseas and doesn't feel like she is going to throw up and she says it feels like her normal pain so I guess I should assume that is what it is but I will have to discuss that with her gi on Monday during our phone call.

Sounds like fun don't you think?

Anyway Joshua is feeling as well and hyper as normal and so far Kelly, Izzak and I don't seem to have whatever is making Maddy sick yet either! That is good news. I am feeling mood wise better today though surprisingly I understand that life has bumps in the road and everyone has their own to deal with and I know some have far bigger bumps then we have. My kids are for the most part healthy in the sense that they don't have any life threatening illnesses and Izzak is healthy enough as the dr says that he will get through this fine even if he needs skin grafts.

We are still planing our move to Alaska even though we know that we will have less money to go then we were originally thinking of but we have talked and prayed about this alot and really feel this is what we are supposed to do for our family at this time. I am looking forward to this. I know that we will make things work so that I can stay home and right now we are seriously considering homeschooling Izzak at least for a year or more to see if we can work with him more one on one to get farther then he is now. His Special Ed teacher even says he does far better with one on one help and teaching.

Bad luck/ please pray for Izzak

I am starting to wonder about Izzak he seems to be very accident prone this last year.

Wednesday is officially the worst thing any of us has ever done to injure themselves. He spilled a full bowl of very hot Top Ramen right out of the microwave all over his left leg. Then he was worried he would get in trouble which we think has to do with his anxiety and comprehension skills and didn't tell us for almost 6 hours when it started to hurt. I feel like a terrible mom why would he be worried about telling us something like that? I mean he wasn't doing anything wrong.....

Anyway when he showed me it covered the whole top front part of his thigh and wraps around the sides. Obviously I about freaked (to myself so not to scare him) it was horrible and I couldn't figure out how he had gotten around without us noticing. I took straight to the ER to have it checked out and they covered it in Silvadene cream and several layers of gauze and ace bandage and refered us to the burn clinic at Emanuel hospital the next day.

At the burn center the dr looked at his burn and said he had bad second degree burns large areas in the center of the burn are bad enough that he may need skin grafting but we wont know for a couple of weeks as the dr wants to give him a chance to heal on his own first to see if his body can regenerate without grafting but he is not sure he will.

Izzak is in quite a bit of pain right now and needs his dressings changed twice a day which can be painful for him also, he is afraid of taking showers right now as he is worried about the pain. We will be taking him to the burn clinic every week now for awhile until the dr either decides it is healed or needing skin grafts and after that for follow up and he will need to wear some compression around the leg for at least a year to help with the scarring to help his skin to not be to tight as he moves and grows. This will be a long healing process for him.

Also in the same 24 hours I found out I am getting my paycheck garnished, Kelly found out that they are going for much less on the settlement for his car accident then we had anticipated and our kitty, Mouse, was hit by a car and killed. So I am a little frustrated at the moment and feeling like a terrible mom. This poor kid has already dealt with a broken arm in the last 3 months from the incident at school in November. What else does he need?

View from my front door

A couple of weeks ago several other bloggers were posting pictures standing at their front doors. I wanted to to this to until my internet went down so I am a little slow in the game.

This is a pretty typical picture minus the snow we often have bikes in the front yard, does that really surprise anyone with 4 kids in the house? Also on this day they were trying to ride their bikes in the snow although they weren't very succesful, hehe.

I also took the picture at an angle that doesn't show so many of the houses down the street. I really hate having so many neighbors close by we have had a lot of bad experiences with neighbors who in the past assumed that since we were young with 4 kids were must be doing something bad and would watch outside the door whenever someone came over. We would get calls to the city because we had an extra bag outside by the garbage a day before garbage day. It was fun, huh yeah right. This neighborhood isn't so bad except for the lady next door who likes to kidnap my cat and spray him so that McKenzie has this kind of reaction. Over all though we have had fairly decent experiences in this particullar neighborhood.

I really want to move somewhere else though I kind of like the idea of not being able to see in my neighbors windows. Also I am really tired of living in the city we hear way to many police sirens and I don't like that, this used to be a good neighborhood but the problems are moving closer up here and I really don't want my kids to live in a high crime neighborhood.

Also on a different topic after I got the call from the school I called my mother to get my brothers phone number since my cell batery decided to die on me. When I told her about Madisons accident again her comment was "well it looks like you should bite the bullet and stay home with the kids". How do I resposnd to that? She knows that is what I want and the only reason I work right now is we can't get by on Kelly's income alone and his insurance sucks! Mine is great and that means for now I need to stay there as long as everyone seems to be having so many health problems at this point it is not a matter of biting the bullet but she doesn't like the idea of us moving even though that would enable us to be able to have me home. So what am I supposed to do? It just really upsets me when she says things like that. Like she just doesn't understand

My internet is back! Yeah

Okay so they told us yesterday it would be until the 9th for it to come up but when we got home today it was already on. I was so happy. We are having some problems though and I am not sure what is going. I can't get into my "My Ebay" page which is really frustrating to me for some reason. Also I can't email any pictures some that I was really wanting to mail to some people but it looks like I will have to wait for those.

This is a picture of Madison and Kennedy from our little shopping trip I thought they were cute pushing their carts.
Here is from Izzaks choir concert last week the pictures pretty much all came out fuzzy but I wanted to post anyway
I thought we did good when we got 6 kids all sitting for pictures, Emily did not want to sit for anything so all these pictures she is standing but I love her smile in this picture
Here is just the girls holding the babies, Dorothy and Simon who are cousins. I just thought it was cute to have the two oldest at the party and the two youngest together, also I am a big fan of changing the colors to sepia and black and white.
Madison actually did really well holding Simon I was worried because she hasn't really held babies much. Kenzie of course was perfectly comfortable with Dorothy, she is the little mother in training and loves babies.

Had a couple appointments

So sorry to not be posting much lately. I still don't have my internet up yet so that doesn't help. Hopefully it will be back up very soon since we called yesterday and paid off the bill. They said it would be on by the 9th and I am hopping it is on much quicker. I really miss my internet. Also I am not able to check on the other sites I frequent quite as much as I would like and I feel like I am missing something. That I and I miss posting pictures.

So back to the title we had a couple of appointments yesterday. First was McKenzie to see her gi doctor and we have decided to try to see if it is a lactose intolerance. So this week we are taking her off of all dairy products and then over the weekend we will give her as much as she wants and see how she reacts. Basically if she gets the tummy problems this weekend after eating them, then that is a pretty good guarantee that she is lactose intolerant. If we don't realy notice a difference then we will do a lactose breath hydrogen test to see for sure. I am sure she would be fun for that test though since she can't eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior. This girl loves her water so that could be hard. So my delima is first of all we eat a lot of dairy at our house since we eat cheese at a lot of meals they also like things like sour cream and Kenzie really likes milk and chocolate milk so we will have to figure out how to do things a little different at least for this week. Also since she is in school I am really hoping she remembers to not have milk in the morning, she takes lunch to school but the school provides breakfasts free and the kids like to go for that (even though they will occasionally eat breakfast at home). I could call the school and inform them to help make sure that doesn't happen but with past experience they are not very good about that. I suppose I should just be glad she isn't deathly allergic to any foods or I would really be worried. I am glad we are working on trying to figure things out again and not doing the whole some kids are like that thing any more because I wasn't really comfortable with that. I love my dr but Kenzie is just kind of a weird patient and hard to pull information out of for both me and the dr, she is not comfortable with telling people about her bowel habits to the point I have to really talk to her to get information. If she is lactose intolerant I will have to really think things out a bit more to figure out how to adjust what we eat so that there isn't dairy in every meal which is about how it is right now. Any ideas? She loves the typical foods like mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches which are her favorite foods. She always orders those when we go out to a restaurant.

Izzak was the other appointment yesterday and it was for his IEP meeting. I was really dreading it because I wasn't going to be able to have Kelly go with me. If you ever need to go to one of these keep in mind that you want to have someone with you. Fortunatly the meeting went well though and I was happy with the results after the meeting. Izzak is really doing well with this new semester. The teachers say his attitude has changed 180 degrees and he is doing great right now on trying to do his work in class and asking for help when he needs it. I think the fact that the two kids he had problems in the year not being in his classes anymore has really helped. They decided to keep up with what they are doing with him right now and make sure that is all in his lesson plan since he is doing so well and he is actually getting a special recognition at school soon for bringing up his grades and improving his attitude so much! I am really happy about all that right now and it helps that the Special Ed teacher is friends with a former Spec Ed teacher he had before who was extremely helpful then because she wants to take more from some of her ideas to help him. So Melanie when I told you the other night that I was worried about the meeting and going alone, it actually worked out really well and they really allowed Izzak to take part in it this time which they haven't done before but I think is really important since he is the one we are talking about.

On the other hand as I was writing this out I had to stop for awhile because I got a call from the schoole and Madison has had another accident at school. I mean honestly is it really hard for her teacher to make sure she goes every hour? They know she has a medical problem and I have asked them to make sure she goes because she can't tell but apparently its to much for them to do. It is just frustrating because then I have to figure out how to get her home or new clothes because it is hard to make sure they always have clothes for her since they won't let her keep them in the classroom or her back pack, they want her to take them to the office and she just doesn't want to do that and I can't just check her back pack to make sure there are clothes in there.

Anyway other then that we had a good weekend we went to Emily's 2nd birthday party and she is just to cute for words. It really makes me miss when the kids were that little! Also we went to Kennedy's to play again. Melanie and I talked a long time and I ended up getting home way after 9 but it was worth it Mel! I really love talking with you. It really is nice to have someone to talk to who understands some of the issues and feelings I deal with although some of our issues are very different health wise they both give us a different view on some things that some of my other friends just don't understand, especially when it comes to the learning disabilities.
