I like to keep things challenging

I like to make things challenging for myself. Not sure exactly why but I seem to do it pretty well. Why am I saying this?

I decided to pull Madison from school now instead of next year like I was originally planning. So we are homeschooling. I have Izzak and Madison. The 2 kids that are the farthest apart in age! Now that should be fun. Don't you think? Ah well. She was actually ahead of where most of her class was working with her reading, writing and spelling abilities. Which means she was bored sometimes.

Boredom with Madison? Not a good thing. That kid soaks everything you throw at her like a sponge. She loves to learn about thing but likes to be challenged. If she is bored she is getting in trouble. Talking in class and other ways of acting up. Don't get me wrong she is a great kid she just loves to keep people on their toes! Yes she was doing that with her teacher. There were some other issues I was not really happy about as well but I'm not going to go into that at the moment. She had a pretty quiet teacher and I think Madison was taking advantage of that. My girl is a character.

Don't worry though we have worked a way to keep her still getting her postcards at school and we will go there once a week for the lesson they do around it. I will supplement the rest of what they are teaching but she will still be able to receive cards. So if you still have some to send or want to send more, keep them comming! She has already beaten any record they may have had for postcards at that school.

One of the fun things we are doing with Madison now that she is homeschooling is she is going to the homeschool gymnastics that Izzak and I have been going to. She is great! Maybe she has a little of her mommy in her after all! I did really well in gymnastics and she started the year late and is already able to do the things the kids in the rest of the class are doing. Of course the fact that I have worked on tumbling type things with the kids since they were little probably helps but she has not fear with the bars and is doing well with those also. Just have a look!

Another benefit to homeschooling is if you are 6 and want to do all your homework, including reading while sitting out on the porch wearing your carebear costume no one will stop you!

Love the last pic! And, oh so true.

Congratulations on your choice, and I'm sure you're going to do a fabulous job. :))

sounds like you guys are going to have a fun year...I see that you're pretty relaxed about schooling!! that's good to see...so am I...I'm not one that has to be seated at the kitchen or schoolroom table to be doing the work! It's more fun the other way and if they're having fun while learning they will be Much more successful! Madison looks like she's having a great time tumbling too!! :D way to go Madison!

Hey - you will enjoy every moment with your (2) kids and homeschooling...

I used to enjoy gymnastics too - well I did when it was over...

I will pop another postcard or two in the post and let's see if we can break all records on the number of cards your Maddison receives. A great collection she will have too.

interesting developement. I hope that it all works out for the three of you-- as I'm sure it will. I think Maddie is one to thrive in any environment.

gotta love those pictures of her!

I will try not to sound to biased...

Woohoo, hmm...guess it didn't work.

Glad she can still get her post cards and she has gymnastics too. I am sure she will love being home schooled.

I so much appreciate parents who really take stock of their kids and are responsive to what they need.

You rock.

You are very brave. I am not sure I have the patients to be with them all day! Atleast not at age 4 anyways!!!

I think everyone should be allowed to do homework in costume, sounds fun!

You definitely make a compelling argument for homeschooling... Personally, I couldn't do it - but full kudos to you!!!

Alright so either you need to email me...point me to an entry...or write one about why you're homeschooling Maddie and why you were going to do it next year but are doing it now?

Not that things like carebear reading time aren't reason enough. ;) I'm just entirely curious!

And you? Are a rockstar! Homeschooling those two kiddos and still ruling the world? You're fantastic!
