2006

I stole this one from my friend Melanie and thought it was a good one to do.

I know this is not January anymore but this is a great way to reflect on 2006 anyway and helps me to look forward to 2007…so…here goes!

1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?

Hmm... I don't know I didn't really do anything different other then I started reading these blogs and now I am totally obsessed.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't really make new years resolutions I know that I will break them, I am just like that I can't commit to those things, just people.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Well Hannah had Simon and of course Becci had Dorothy ! They are sister in laws and I have known Hannah and David for years so that was really exciting. I can't think of anyone else really though.
4. Did anyone close to you die?

My Uncle Monty died from liver cancer which was really a blow to alot of the family it was really sad.

5. What countries did you visit?

No Countries here just a couple states in the US

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

I would like to get to Alaska which we had hoped to do last year but just did not happen we are pretty much set for it to happen now though

7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I don't really have any dates that were etched in my memory from 2006.

The biggest acheivment? Hmm I don't know I didn't kill anyone and I kept my job without telling my boss where to shove it.

I don't think I had any big failures only that we didn't manage to get to Alaska like we had planned this is a big thing because then I can quit my job :) !

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No new illnesses I did have the problem with my elbow but I didn't do anything specific to injure it but I had to have surgery to try to fix it, although I am finding now that it didn't really work so I am pretty disapointed in that.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought my Durango! I was excited about that and it was good timing because we bought it 3 days before we had to make our rush trip to Nevada when my uncle was dying and it was great timing since none of the cars we had before would have gotten us there.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Thats another hard one. Izzak did turn around his behavior at school toward the end of the year which was great since even though he still struggles he has a much better attitude about it.

Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood. It is so true for us and I really have to remind myself that I can't always be in control, I need to give it up to someone else

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?

a) Happier we turned things around last year and moved started being able to keep up a little bit better with our finances, finances stress me out so making more and not having to worry quite as much was nice

c) I would have to say richer, not because of money though

I would have to say Melanie she is a lot of fun to talk to.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.

I need to let go of things more and not feel like I need to be in so much control.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

No, life ain’t always beautiful.
Tears will fall sometimes.

Great post, as a new visitor to your blog I learnt lots about you.

Alaska hey, that sounds cold.

Beccy, Alaska is cold but I am up for it especially if it means I can stay home. I am just tired of working and trying to deal with the kids issues. Its just to much for me.

I love this one. I started working on it, but it's a bit tougher than I thought. My memory isn't that good, I guess. So, it might take me a bit to finish.
